Kathakali, A Classical Indian dance-drama!

Posted by

Hanuman, the ape devotee of Lord Rama, here with 'real fire' from his eyes! The 'clenched fist' adds an additional effect to the scene!

'Kalyana Sougandhikam’ Kathakali, Kalikotta Palace, Tripunithura, KERALA

The reddish glow from the eyes are so significant in Kathakali! The artists use the seeds of a 'herbal flower' (chunda poo) to redden the eyes! This tiny seed is laid inside the lower eye lid!
